What exactly does our board do?
President: The elected President will conduct the general and board meeting using “Robert’s Rules” as a guide. The President will provide an agenda for each meaning listing the items to be addressed. The President will be the person who oversees all the clubs projects to ensure that they are successful.
Vice President: The First Vice President is an extension of the President. The First Vice President should work very closely with the president taking over meetings when necessary and carrying some of the responsibility of overseeing projects.
Second Vice President: The Second Vice President is an extension of the First Vice President and is an underclassman, preferably a junior, who is interested in becoming President. The Second Vice President should work closely with the President and the First Vice President taking over meetings when necessary and caring some of the responsibility of overseeing projects.
Secretary: The Secretary should keep accurate notes in each meeting, membership records including addresses, homerooms, telephone numbers, email addresses, records of those individuals completing projects and creating membership cards/certificates. These files should be passed onto each succeeding Secretary.
Treasurer: The Treasurer will work with the grade directors in collecting and depositing dues are monies collected for members. The Treasurer will keep an accurate account of all monies collected and deposited. A report will be given at each board meeting of the money on hand and money spent.
Historian: The Historian will keep a record of the club's accomplishments and activities for the year. The Historian will collect items such as pictures and news clippings about the club and its members. The Historian will organize a scrapbook to tell the club's story for the year.
Communications: The Communications Officer will publicize club activities through social media and the club website. The Communications Officer will work closely with the Secretary to maintain records of correspondence. This position should find ways to use technology to improve organization's operations and inform other regional officers about technological resources available.
